Cracking the code for successful team building

Cracking a safe is not a typical part of a conference program but recently more than 40 Child Cancer Foundation volunteers did this to develop their team building and problem solving skills.

Team building specialists Corporate Challenge Events donated its popular ‘Safe Crack’ program to Child Cancer Foundation for its recent Member Forum at Rendezvous Hotel Auckland.

Child Cancer Foundation aims to reduce the impact of cancer by offering services in New Zealand that ensure children and their families are supported, informed and remain connected at every stage of their journey.

The Child Cancer Foundation Member Forum brought together representatives from its volunteer branch committees  to discuss the Foundation’s future direction and opportunities.

Child Cancer Foundation Chief Executive Robyn Kiddle  said ‘Safe Crack’ provided a welcome  break during the Forum with a fun team building activity.

“The forum allowed us to bring together representatives from our branch committees throughout the country,” said Ms Kiddle.

“These volunteers all support children with cancer and their families in their communities. They don’t often get the chance to meet each other and share ideas.

“The opportunity to have a fun challenge to assist with building the team environment was wonderful and we would like to thank Corporate Challenge Events for donating this beneficial program to us.”

Corporate Challenge Events New Zealand Manager Darren Eckford said team building activities like ‘Safe Crack’ were becoming a popular part of conference programs.

“We are seeing more conferences and even single-day business events incorporate fun team building events to provide variety in the programs,” said Mr Eckford.

“These team building activities provide a fun and social element to conferences but can also develop delegates in areas such as leadership, communication, problem solving and analysis and strategic planning.

“We were delighted to donate ‘Safe Crack’ for such a great organisation, Child Cancer Foundation, and help them to support kids and their families impacted by cancer.”
